Kolkata International Women’s Club was founded in 2002 by a group of international women living in Kolkata.

 

KIWC has a constitution and a bank account.

 

We have a committee consisting of: President; Vice President; Treasurer; Secretary; Activities; Social media and Website and Charities. We are in the process of pursuing formal registration as a not-for-profit organisation. We are not-for-profit, non-sectarian and non-political.

 

The aims of the club are:

• To provide working and non-working international passport holding women in Kolkata with information, practical and moral support and opportunities for social connectivity.

• To foster friendship and understanding between ourselves and the local community.

• To contribute in a charitable way to any needy cause agreed upon by the members.

We achieve our aims through:

• Monthly meetings with guest speakers (topics include local and national culture)

• Social events open to members and non members (many to raise money for charity e.g. Monsoon Ball, Annual Easter Party)

• Trips and visits to cultural places of interest. Recent trips include - Shantiniketan, the Marble Palace and a walking tour of old Calcutta

• Website and Facebook Page for members and new arrivals

• Email group for sharing information and requests for information 

• Committee members visiting charities to ascertain creditability and matching against our selection criteria

• YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOU - We are always looking for more people to join the Committee to help run the club and keep it going as people leave when they relocate.  Please volunteer and get in touch.
