Annual General Meeting
This year's Annual General Meeting for KIWC members at the Hyatt Hotel was a blast!
​
The morning kicked off with Committee Members taking the stage, who shared KIWC's incredible accomplishments over the past year and also the club's promising plans for the year ahead. The Charities Team, Design & Marketing Team & Book Club were celebrated & recognized for their hard work and dedication.
​
In true KIWC fashion, we took a moment to applaud members who went above and beyond, embodying the spirit of our community. Congratulations to all the deserving winners of our Member Awards!
​
We had a lovely lunch at La Cucina, where members, new and old, connected with one another and engaged in interesting conversations over delicious dishes.
​
Special thanks to the Hyatt Hotel for providing the perfect setup for our event. And to our incredible members - thank you for making this past year truly exceptional. Here's to many more memorable moments together in the year ahead!

International Women's Day
The theme for International Women's Day 2024 was Inspire Inclusion.
Members gathered at Taki Taki for a sit down dinner, inspirational conversations & connecting with KIWC women to build a sense of belonging & empowerment. There were various giveaways throughout the evening. Thank you Taki Taki for a seamless & memorable event.

Tambola Night Charity Fundraiser
Year Three of our iconic charity fundraiser, Tambola Night, was a huge resounding success! Enjoyed by young and old alike, there were a multitude of smiles & exciting prizes throughout the night.

A special shoutout to Rishika for being such an amazing MC (mic drop!) and heartfelt gratitude to the KIWC kids and families for volunteering and to our incredible sponsors for making Tambola Night by KIWC one to remember!

Visit to the Marble Palace
KIWC Members were invited by Sujata Mullick to tour the beautiful heritage architectural property, The Marble Palace in Kolkata. The members enjoyed strolling through the beautifully maintained gardens and seeing the historical marble statues, paintings, art and opulent interiors. Members were treated to a scrumptious high tea, while learning about the history of the property and Sujata's charity work that supports women affected by climate change. Thank you Sujata Mullick for the exclusive tour!

Introduction to Japanese Literature
Konnichiwa! A KIWC Book Club exclusive event - Introduction to Japanese Literature. Thank you to Professor Abhijit Mukherjee for your engaging talk on Japanese literature through the ages. The conversation was followed by a delicious Japanese themed tea hosted by Book Club Chair Yukiko Yuasa. KIWC's Design and Marketing team also created a special booklet on Japanese literature for the Book Club. An amazing event perfectly done!

KIWC Christmas Bazaar
More than a 1000 visitors, 50 plus food and product vendors, showcasing 25 plus NGO's and Charities, A visit from Santa, Live music, Kids activities, and an after party... the bazaar was a resounding success! Thank you to everyone who came and supported us.

A Walk Through Kumartuli
KIWC Vice-President, Husna Tara Prakash, led members in a walk through Kumartuli (Potter's Lane), which is buzzing with life leading up to Durga Puja! Potters are working on the statues that will adorn the numerous pandals in Kolkata's lanes during the festival.
Thank you to Gouri Basu, who started the walk with a special talk on the history & artistry of Durga Puja preparations. The walk ended with a delicious traditional Bengali lunch at Bhojohari Manna.

Monsoon Ball 2023
Another successful monsoon ball - an amazing evening enjoyed by all AND we raised funds for our charities!! Sold out Tickets and Sold out Raffles!

Members were treated to a wonderful conversation with Karen Anand, on the launch of her new book, Masala Memsahib. Followed by a sampling of some of her recipes from the book

Day at the Modiste
Members spent a very charming day at Rohan Pariyar's atelier learning about corset making and trying their hand at embroidery. This was followed by a fashion show of members wearing the corsets. Thank you Rohan for a wonderful afternoon.

Annual Mango Meeting
KIWC members spent a lovely morning learning how to make some fun dishes using a variety of mangoes from Smriti Sarawagi of Eat Out at Home at Daga Nikunj followed by a delicious mango-inspired lunch. Thank you to KIWC founders, Preeti Kapur and Kavita Poddar for organizing this amazing event & Smriti for teaching us some lip-smacking recipes!
